A long time friend took his 13-year-old daughter hunting for the first time. My daughter was due to be born in a couple of months, so this was exciting to see that having a daughter didn’t mean I couldn’t hunt or run dogs. Their dog was just a puppy so I took out Max who was just 13 months old and a puppy himself. I did not shoot that day so I could concentrate on running Max, but I did take pictures. He had a ball hunting in Los Banos.

It was pretty flooded so we just strolled through the water on the way back to the truck. The funniest part of the day was the fact that I forgot my waders, and I was walking through the water with Dockers and my boots, so I got more wet than Max. It was a great day on many points, but this picture will always remind me of the beauty of these dogs. I could have sat out there all day and watched him hunt.
